Notes about Belgirate...

In memory of Stendhal, the renowned writer who spent some time there and mentioned it often in his diaries, Belgirate could be defined a typical "village charmant", with a centuries-old illustrious past. Sunsets in this part of the lake are truly unforgettable and of rare beauty. As a matter of fact, the small fishing village used to be a favourite destination for eminent men of letters and well-known personalities of the Italian Risorgimento, who appreciated its relaxing peace and quiet and healthy air. Even today, Belgirate surely boasts a geographical position and climatic conditions among the lake's most enjoyable, a group of palazzi and period residences, directly overlooking the lake, a continuation of villas and well kept parks following one after another: this is Belgirate today.

How to get there

The private motorboat service that will take you everywhere, to the islands or to nearby Switzerland, like the private limousine service that will pick you up on request at airports and railway stations. The villa's park has a helicopter landing pad.

Villa Dal Pozzo is also easily reached from the motorway and is located in the vicinity of the two main international airports in Milan, MALPENSA2000 only 35 km away, and LINATE, 80 km. Trains on the Milano-Domodossola-Sempione-Paris-London international line stop at the railway station of Belgirate-Stresa. The motorway exit is at Arona (9 km from Belgirate), where the A-8 (Milan-Lakes), A-4 (Milan-Turin) and A-26 (Genoa-Voltri-Sempione) meet.
